Background:
Born in Jichu-cho, Sabae-shi, Fukui prefecture in 1951.

After graduating from a commercial high school in 1969, enters the household trade of "Kawada Shikki", apprenticing under his predecessor, Kinju Yamagishi, and learns lacquering technique. Thereafter, continues his training and to create original productions and challenges in adding modern tones to the traditinal Kawada lacquering. His creations, mainly wares for daily living, which mix traditional skill with every day usefulness are receiving fine appraisal.
